Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle - Harmonia axyridis

Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle - Harmonia axyridis
Camp Creek Run, Marlton, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 16, 2011
Size: Maybe around 9 mm?
Pretty sure this is Harmonia axyridis (Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle)

4th instar, starting to pre-pupate
It isn't a full prepupa yet, but it is getting ready; this stiff, arched position allows the abdominal wall to harden in preparation for pupating. You can also see how thin and stretched the skin is - it's as big as its exoskeleton will allow!

Thanks
