Interesting--I've never seen one with that zigzag pattern before, but the only other example on BugGuide has the same thing:

Is that defect in the original photo, or was it something that happened when you uploaded it? If the latter, it would be great if you could try uploading it again (just click "edit")--this would be a nice addition to the guide.
