Vanessa virginiensis? - Vanessa virginiensis

Vanessa virginiensis? - Vanessa virginiensis
Arvada, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA
July 20, 2011
Vanessa virginiensis? Seen in the early morning, rather shy.
Thought it was a Painted Lady at first, but the undersides of it's wings look much less busy- more like the virginiensis.
The pronounced notch in the forewing, as well as the white dot in the orange area distinguish it as an American Lady.
First data point for CO.
