Hemaris species - Hemaris thysbe - Female
Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska, USA
July 24, 2011
When I saw it, I thought this looked like a Hummingbird Clearwing. I had a Snowberry Clearwing in my garden earlier today and it was noticeably smaller. Unfortunately this was the only photo I could get. I know it is a female because after feeding it flew off to my Viburnum bush and laid an egg. Can anyone confirm species?
