Did you keep the specimen? I've never seen a Grammia aberration quite like this one, but virgo may be the best guess.

Grammia sp.
Virgin Tiger Moth?
These are so variable.

Given the size and shape, I suspect this might be a very dark form of Grammia virgo, the "Virgin Tiger Moth".

Below is an example of this species lacking much of the "cross patterns" leaving mostly the longitudinal veins covered by lighter scaling.


Below are more typical forms exhibiting the "cross patterns" of lighter scaling.
