My first Robber Fly - Mallophora fautrix
Dallas, Denton County, Texas, USA
Size: ~28mm
Was hunting dragonflys and saw this critter just sitting there, posing for me. I thought it was a bumble bee at first. Only got the one shot before it took off. I think it is a Mallophora fautrix, but I've never seen a Robber Fly before. You can see the full sized image here: http://www.texasmothman.com/images/dsc_9545.jpg
