While it possesses the yellow spotted color pattern exhibited also by Cherokia g. georgiana, this millipede is instead Apheloria virginiensis montana (Bollman). The yellow middorsal spots are smaller and more discrete in A.v.m. than in C.g.g., and the photo clearly shows that the dorsum is smooth instead of roughened & wrinkled, as in C.g.g.

It looks like
one of these millipedes. Cliff, not only is it a good pose, but the moss is the perfect background.
