Though it may be somewhat late in the season, provided you can still find
Penstemon
in flower, you may be able to find females foraging for pollen. This species uses
Penstemon
with blue to purplish corollas. Which species grow in your area? Perhaps
P. cyananthus
, and
Penstemon carnosus
?

I'm going to that area again and both P. cyananthus and carnosus grow in Utah. There's always a chance!
