Cicada - Megatibicen pronotalis - female

Cicada - Megatibicen pronotalis - Female
Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa, USA
July 24, 2011
Size: at least 95 mm wingspan
Found outside of a gas station. Much larger than any other cicada that I have found. In one of my books it is called "Walker's Cicada (Tibicen marginalis)", but that name isn't in Bugguide. Does it go by some other name, or is it not here yet?

Moved from Walker's Cicada.

Moved from ID Request.

Tibicen pronotalis (syn. marginalis / syn. walkeri)
Nice cicada

Note: This insect lacks the dark "Z" infuscation towards the wing tips typical of most other Tibicen species. This character is diagnostic for both pronotalis & dealbatus.
