Size: 3 mm
Two came to UV light on warm, humid night. I think these photos are of same individual. It was grooming itself -- often a good opportunity to get some shots.

Anthicidae: Sapintus pubescens
Based on size, I would go with S. pubescens.

Anthicidae?
I'm thinking it most resembles an anthicid, but geez, I've gotten a real education on how diverse the itty-bitty beetles are:-)

Yes, my first thought as well,
but I couldn't find any that resembled it.

Mely*ridae?
To my untrained novice eye, this beetle bears morphological affinity with some members of this family, the so*ft-winged flower beetles.

Another thing that suggests this family it that it does seem to be a "flower beetle." I deduce this from the avidity with which these tiny beetles pounced on a small watermelon chunk I gave them.
