Plume Moth caterpillar - Geina sheppardi

Plume Moth caterpillar - Geina sheppardi
Essex, Ontario, Canada
June 2, 2006
Size: 8mm long
Found on Pawpaw (Asimina triloba)sapling, under Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina). Didn't actually see this caterpillar eating the leaf, but there is a hole. It spun silk webbing on the leaf. By the spines on the caterpillar, I thought perhaps this would be 2nd stage (instar) of a Dagger or other type of moth. Within 24 hours it had changed into or spun a chrysalis/cocoon!

Harvester?
Reminds me of a Harvester larva. Are you keeping it to see what emerges?

I don't think this is Harvest
I don't think this is Harvester, their chrysalis has the look of a monkey face. I have it safely stored in a plastic container and can't wait to see what pops out!
