Giant Stonefly - Pteronarcys californica

Giant Stonefly - Pteronarcys californica
Mill Creek Falls, Jackson County, Oregon, USA
June 2, 2006
Locally, this is known as a "Salmonfly".

Moved from Giant Stoneflies.

I agree...
with Eric that this is probably P. californica.

Giant Stonefly.
Should be the giant stonefly, Pteronarcys californica (spelling?). Neat find, though they can be incredibly abundant when there is a "hatch."

Thanks for the ID! I know what you mean by abundant. At times, I have seen them everywhere. :)
