Slant-faced Grasshopper - Dichromorpha viridis - Male
Engeldinger Marsh, Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt, Polk County, Iowa, USA
July 29, 2011
Size: approximately 15mm

looks like a male nymph of Dichromorpha viridis
also, a couple of parasitic mites above the middle leg

Moved from Slant-faced Grasshoppers.

Moved from Pygmy Grasshoppers.

Gomphocerinae nymph
I think this is the nymph of a Slant-faced Grasshopper (Gomphocerinae in the Acrididae), not actually a pygmy grasshopper (Tetrigidae).
