Grand Forks, Grand Forks County, North Dakota, USA

Size: Length 6-7 mm
I'm hoping to confirm or correct this ID. This specimen resembles this BG image:

Thanks for looking! ;-)

The genus is currently under revision by one of Paul Johnson's students at South Dakota State. I'm hesitant to put species names (especially on western specimens) until that revision is out :).

All of my specimens
with this size, color pattern, and from North Dakota have been identified by P. Johnson as Aeolus mellillus

Thanks, Guy!
Thanks for confirming the ID on this specimen! Guy, I'll have to visit with you when I'm passing through Minot. (I'd like to sneak-a-peek at your MSU moth collection sometime in the near future.) ;-)

sounds good

Thanks, Blaine!
I'm pleased to learn the genus! ;-)
