Size: 6.5 mm
Note narrow rufous edges of the pronotum and the pale narrow side margins of the elytra. In some specimens of P. puncticollis the sutural margin of the elytra is concolorous, and not paler than the elytra itself.

This specimen does not fit Fender's descriptions of P. extremus, which has the pronotum entirely black. The elytra are also mostly black (not piceous like on this specimen) with pale side margins.
