Darkling Beetle? - Alobates pensylvanicus
Seymour, Sevier County, Tennessee, USA

Size: about 1 inch long.
I would love to id this beetle I found to genus at least, if not species. I am thinking darkling beetle of some kind, judging by the way it looks. I thought that darkling beetles secreted a foul odor though, and this one did not. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. This is only the second time I have seen a beetle like this around here and I have lived here for about 4.5 years.
