What is the fluid moving through the abdomen?

Baetid
Hi Arlo-

This is a male imago of family Baetidae. However, I assume 10 mm is an estimate of body length, as opposed to being a measurement, as that seems too long for any Baetid genus other than Callibaetis, which I don't believe it to be.

As to what appears to be fluid moving through the abdomen in your video, I can offer no explanation for it, other than to suggest it may be an illusion of some sort.

Size was estimate...
I am rotten at estimating sizes, especially since this was shot almost 3 years ago.

Diphetor hageni
Arlo-

That is certainly understandable. In any event I believe this male imago to be Diphetor hageni, which would put the body length at about 5-7 mm.
