silvanid? - Silvanoprus angusticollis

silvanid? - Silvanoprus angusticollis
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
May 29, 2006
Size: maybe 3 mm
Unlike most I've seen, this silvanid, if that's what it is, has some nice markings on it. Collected at UV lights on warm, humid night. I'll post another image soon showing the all-important pronotal angles.

Silvanid
I don't think it has a color pattern; it is still partly colored due to immaturity. The pronotal angles aren't bad; what is needed is a clear shot of a tarsus. If the 3rd tarsomere is lobed, then it belongs to the genus Silvanoprus and should be S. angusticollis, an immigrant Asian species established in the U.S. If they aren't lobed, then it is a Silvanus, but not one I recognize immediately.

I may not still have this specimen.
I didn't begin saving everything till earlier this year.
