HUGE robber fly? - Microstylum morosum

HUGE robber fly? - Microstylum morosum
Creek County, Oklahoma, USA
August 5, 2011
Size: Bigger than a quarter!
I guess this is a robber fly, but I have no idea what kind. It showed up on the porch while I was outside - it was so big I thought it was a tarantula at first glance. I've never seen anything nearly this big! I think something was wrong with it, too, because I was obviously able to get pretty close to it!
