What type of fly?

What type of fly?
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 5, 2006
Size: 1cm
These flys were found on Delphinium flower buds and on more than one plant. They were very still making them the best behaved insect I ever photographed too bad I couldn't get a clearer shot.
I searched the fly page and the only closest match was a fly with a fungus .
While these fly's appear very bloated the abdomens were smooth and free of any powdery/fuzzy like growth.
On the other hand a few of the fly's in the group looked as if they were dehydrated like the one to the far most right in this photo.
I am curious to what this fungus is or if not a fungus , what type of fly ?
Thanks All, Always appreciate the time and info

What type of fly? What type of fly?

Entomophthora fungus
I googled fly killing fungus and read about this fungus. What a way to die ! The fungal spores cause this bloating ,and it is reported to first infect the brain of the fly to control it's behavior compeling it to crawl high up on plant stems for maximum distribution of spores when they finally break through the outside of the host body.
Brutal way to go but very interesting .
