Mamma brentid bores an egg hole - Arrenodes minutus - female

Mamma brentid bores an egg hole - Arrenodes minutus - Female
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 6, 2006
I chipped out a square from the oak trunk containing the egg hole and am contemplating dissecting it later. I'd like to investigate the hole plugging further. Also, I'd like to know how many eggs are deposited in one hole. If it's just one, mamma brentid must repeat this procedure many times.

Fascinating series, Jim!
Let us know if you find out more about the plug or egg.

Thank you, Joyce.
Sort of like waiting for the next mystery episode :-)
