Dorsal view of pinned specimen. I wanted to get a live photo, but it expired before I could get it back to the lab (This specimen was collected on one of the hottest and most uncomfortable days I've ever had in the field).

Hi Mark, just curious if you have heard
about the massive fish kill from the paper plant in Bogalusa and what
impact its having on the west pearl river,I just got home and haven't
been to the east pearl but here its terrible.

I haven't checked it out yet.
I may go up next week and take a look. It sounds heartbreaking, and I was intending to go kayaking/researching on the spoiled section of the West Pearl next month. I hope the effects aren't too long-lasting, but I'm not very optimistic.

Thanks Mark,it makes one wonder if this is just a
one time accident,or what may be getting dumped into our river system.
I did hear that the Ross Barnett resevoir may be opened to help flush
out the river but sad to think what the long term impact will be.
