A very nice introduction to Thomas Eisner's work on chemical ecology of arthropods. If you haven't read any of his work, you are in for a treat and an inspiration.
It is full of great facts and references that would be great for fleshing out guide pages.

Compar to For Love of Insects?
Any idea how much of the material in this work overlaps with that of For Love of Insects (1)?

comparison...
Secret Weapons is more of a guide to specific insects that show chemical defenses. Each insect has a 2-3 page biography. For Love of Insects is much more writing and storytelling while still have fantastic photography (as does secret weapons). Both books are great and the overlap concern of yours should not be submitted to. I would start with For Love of Insects though for the reading.

There are quite a few instances of overlap, but this book is more concise. Overall, For Love of Insects is a more enjoyable read, as it has more biographical details about the author. Secret Weapons sticks mostly to the biology, and makes a handy reference work.
