Elateridae
This is clearly a click beetle, Elateridae. Very likely the genus Ampedus, maybe Ampedus rubricus.

I'd have to agree with Ampedu
I'd have to agree with Ampedus rubricus. Based on comparison with the Wagner/Scott Collection of material from Quebec.
