Litter Moth - Hodges#8378 - Renia salusalis - Male
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
August 19, 2011
The looks like a Bent-winged Owlet Moth - Hodges #8370. Still, undecided because dark renal spots. Am I just thinking too much or is this a close relative, like one of the Renia moths? I needs some intervention. Thanks

I think your second guessing is correct. According to info here and here, the antennae of Bleptina caradrinalis or any other member of the genus should not have those tufts.

Renia and Tetanolita look better to me but now I'm guessing.
