Clover Looper - August 17 - Caenurgina crassiuscula

Clover Looper - August 17 - Caenurgina crassiuscula
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 17, 2011
As the leaves began to mold, I removed the pupa from the leaves but the case still shows signs of mold. The moth emerged on August 20. However, the moth was not able to completely rid itself of the pupal case and so the wings were somewhat misshapen.

a suggestion.

Thanks for the hint. It's kind of tricky sometimes to decide on the right amount of moisture to have in the container since sometimes the pupas dry out so much that it's impossible for the moth to break out of the case.
