Size: approx. 5 cm
9 am in my yard on a small magnolia tree. All black and very large fly. The fly was in no hurry.

In the comments to the linked photo, Tony-2 writes "They seem to like vehicles, especially trucks - the darker the better." Not sure whether that's a joke but I had my black Nissan truck parked 6' away from the fly :)
