Small Butterfly-like moth - Trichodezia californiata

Small Butterfly-like moth - Trichodezia californiata
Aptos, Santa Cruz County, California, USA
August 21, 2011
The way it holds its wings and the striped antennae remind me of a butterfly, but the colors, and its habit of staying in the shade seem moth-like. Which is it? After guessing moth, now I'm having doubts. It is small. About the size of the small butterflies known as blues.

BTW- A flash was used, this was in the shade.

I'm amazed that you can recognize this little west coast moth!
