a really red one - Oncopeltus fasciatus - Male
Southwest Biological Research Station west of Portal, Cochise County, Arizona, USA

Size: 14 mm
These abounded on milkweeds in the wildflower plantings around the Station. Females looked pretty much like they do elsewhere, but some males had this much redder color that I had never seen before.
