Bee [Pseudoanthidium? nanum??] ID Request - Pseudoanthidium nanum - female

Bee [Pseudoanthidium? nanum??] ID Request - Pseudoanthidium nanum - Female
Herring Run Park, Baltimore City County, Maryland, USA
August 24, 2011
Based on Sam Droege's recent report of netting this bee outside Hagerstown, and following the floral suggestion of Centaurea [=stoebe?] parsed by the Discover Life page for the species, I set out to photograph this newly established Old World bee in my local city park here in Baltimore City. Did I succeed?

Thankfully this bee is not shy like its "true" Anthidium relatives. Otherwise I would have had a tough time getting any decent shots using the piece of crap Nikon point-and-shoot I am forced to use these days.

Good thing that I found these pictures, just by chance, to add them to the List of Non-native arthropods. Next time, let me know, please, if you have a chance.
