not a Sharpshooter? - Scaphytopius latus

not a Sharpshooter? - Scaphytopius latus
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
August 26, 2011
Size: approx. 4-5 mm
10 am in my yard (small holly). Could this be a nymph? In any case this looks sharpshooterish to me.

Not a sharpshooter
It has pointed head, but it's not a sharpshooter.
Something in Scaphytopius. Maybe this one? Wait for Dr. Hamilton!

Scaphytopius lanceus
A female; males are darker and have a shorter head.

Scaphytopius latus
On second thought, the head is too dark for S. lanceus, so it must be this more common and widespread species. Sorry about that!

Thanks
for the ID!

Thank you, Yurika
... but at least it's a very sharp looking bug :)
