Light arena for insect photography

Light arena for insect photography
Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
The blue funnel-like object is a portion of a plastic deli tray I bought at a Dollar Store or someplace similar. It doubles as a shade for my eyes against the glare of the lights and as a holder for the one-quart deli containers I place my photo subjects in. The slot on one side accepts the cord from my ring flash that normally would mount on a lens but it detachable and faces away from the deli container to create indirect or bounced flash illumination inside the light arena. I used a sawtoothed kitchen knife to carve the deli tray into the shape I needed.
