Light arena for insect photography

Light arena for insect photography
Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
Here is one of the clear plastic quart-size deli containers I used inside the light arena. This one has been coated on the inside with Insect-a-Slip (available from BioQuip Products), which prevents most insects from crawling out during the photo shoot. For ground beetles, darkling beetles, and others not equipped for walking on smooth leaf surfaces, I prefer an uncoated container.
