Light arena for insect photography

Light arena for insect photography
Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
Here you see the fan opening where a small electronics cooling fan from Radio Shack that's mounted in the bucket base draws air past the flourescent bulbs to cool them off. Insects still get plenty warm during a photo shoot, and some, like rove beetles, are easily overheated, even with frequent sprays of water to cool them off.
