Harmonia axyridis
The w-shaped black area on the pronotum (behind the head) indicates that it's the
Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle
(
Harmonia axyridis
). These are extremely variable, with varying numbers and arrangements of spots.
By the way: when you're posting someone else's images, put their name under Copyright Owner , so their name will show under the image and not yours. In this case it's just a technicality, but correct attribution is a good habit to get into here.

Thanks and....
Thanks!
Oh, about the photo-she's my 15 year old daughter. I didn't know you could do that-so that's why I have the photographer's name on the photos. Can that be changed after the posting? and how do you do that?
Seems like almost every Ladybug we find is that species anymore.

Easy!
Click on Edit under the image, look for the Copyright Owner box near the bottom of the page, and put her name in there. Then click submit.
Like I said, it's not like you're going to get in legal hot water over not crediting your daughter in that particular spot- but it's a good habit to get into.
Harmonia axyridis
is an aggressive, invasive non-native that has many concerned it may wipe out other, native ladybugs. Both the larvae and adults kill and eat other species of ladybugs.
Oddly enough, I've seen very few this year in my yard, but I have lots of
Hippodamia convergens
,
Cycloneda polita
,
Scymnus
sp., and the non-native
Coccinellia septempunctata
.

Thank-you ^_^
I didn't see the copyright at the bottom-and I went and fixed them all (like 6 of them). ^_^
I noticed that those Ladybugs (Harmonia axyridis) seem to bite people too. We had a very unpleasant experience a bit ago while walking through some grass-and the darned things started to attack and bite. I'm not sure what set them off-being disturbed or perhaps since it was a very dry summer-they were looking for liquids or what.
(do they do that?)

Biting?
I've never heard of Ladybugs biting anything bigger than they are. Maybe you were an aphid in a previous life... :)
