Size: approx. 8 mm
12n in my yard. Is this Gasteracantha cancriformis? It looks a little bit different from the photos posted here. The backside was black.

There is only one species in the genus. Individuals vary somewhat: .

One can hardly discern the projections 5 and 6 and the white area is much smaller ... So many thanks for the confirmation.
