Small Flies on Butterfly Wing - Forcipomyia - Female
Huachuca Canyon, Huachuca Mountains, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 25, 2011
Flies remained on the wings during flight of the butterfly.
Butterfly is an Arizona Sister.
Any help with the ID of the flies would be appreciated.

We have some similar images
on dragonflies and fishflies

but we wouldn't know if they are related.
