This has to be one of the most impressive ground beetles I've ever seen! What a change from the usual dull black! Fantastic shot, Steven! Sorry I can't help with the ID.

Possibly
Check the Guide to Florida Carabidae in a google search. Your beetle looks very similar to the Dercylinus pictured in the online Adobe Acrobat guide. See what you think. That's my best guess for this large beetle group.
