How about Dicaelus pupuratus or one of the other Dicaelus species?

Possibly
Check the Guide to Florida Carabidae in a google search. Your beetle looks very similar to the Dercylinus pictured in the online Adobe Acrobat guide. See what you think. That's my best guess for this large beetle group.
