I try to photograph them once they start moving around so they look natural. Photographing in the field I'd get far fewer species and it would be difficult to use the 65mm macro lens.

what depth of field and shutter speed do you manage with these guys? I can't imagine trying to photograph these with a shutter any lower than 1/400, but if you have them in good light I guess that isn't an issue.

I use the Canon twin head flash to get more depth of field. Usually I go with 1/200 second shutter speed and f14 and if I need more light, I bump the ISO up a little.
