It was near a lake, so I'm guessing Dolomedes tenebrosus rather than Dolomedes scriptus? Saw the mother with egg sac, then saw the hour-old hatchlings.

D. scriptus
would be my guess from what I can see. Are these your largest images or did you size them this small? If you could post a bit larger image for you third shot.. I could look at the dorsal markings more closely.

The original images are much larger, I sized them down in order to post them. I will try to crop the third image better (and maybe do some elementary post-processing to make it lighter).

A guide book ("Spiders of the Eastern United States")says that D. tenebrosus is found near permanent bodies of water, while D. scriptus is more often found near flowing streams, which is why I guessed tenebrosus.
