Vespidae: V. vidua? - Vespula vidua - female

Vespidae: V. vidua? - Vespula vidua - Female
Turtle River State Park, Grand Forks County, North Dakota, USA
September 5, 2011
Size: Length ~ 12-14 mm
Could this specimen be an example of a male Vespula vidua? I photographed a similar yellowjacket, which looked like it might be a female, at the same location two days ago (see thumb photo below). Thanks for looking! ;-)

Nice find
These are a nice find for North Dakota, at the edge of the range for this species. This is a worker though, not a male.

Thanks, Ben!
I appreciate the correction and celebrate the rarity of the find! ;-)
