Robber Fly - Laphria fernaldi
Mancos, Montezuma County, Colorado, USA
June 12, 2006
Size: Big. ~1"
I only got one chance at this one. Someone tell me if I got my first robber fly!

Congratulations!
Good luck in your future robber fly hunting!

You did
And it is a western Laphria species. Likely L. fernaldi. It is a male. Common along the Colorado range.

Coming back
With this single view, hard to tell if this might not be engelhardti.
