Elusive Clubtail Female - Stylurus notatus - Female
Mississippi River south of Genoa dam, Vernon County, Wisconsin, USA
September 5, 2011
Size: 2.5"
Watched a pair of dragonflies fighting in air. They dropped into the water and a male Stylurus plagiatus flew off. We went over and picked the other from the water. It turned out to be a female Stylurus notatus. I set her on a plant to recover. After she revived, she flew to a flower and perched.
