What a beauty! - Ptecticus trivittatus

What a beauty! - Ptecticus trivittatus
Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Size: less than an inch
Is this some sort of sawfly? It sat on a houseplant for over an hour - in through the back door. with the naked eye it appears as a nondescript brownish insect - I took several pictures and when I zoomed in I was shocked to see such gorgeous colours and patterns. What is it. I would love to know.
