These two dragonflies were seen around 1:00 p.m. along the edge of Park Lake.

Black Meadowhawks?
Alberta is out of range for Ocellated Darner. This looks like a mating pair of Black Meadowhawks - Sympetrum danae. With a head-on shot, it is a little tough. However, the pattern on both abdomens are correct as well as the spots on the male's thorax.
