Size: ~1 mm wide
I encountered this 1914 specimen of Sweet Indian Plantain (Cacalia [Hasteola] suaveolens) in the herbarium of the Putnam Museum and spotted twisting mines in a leaf which I recognized as those of Phyllocnistis insignis based on previous identification of a different herbarium specimen:


I thought this was a neat illustration of the value of biological collections, in this case documenting the presence of the moth nearly 100 years ago.
