This is actually a Variegated Fritillary crysalis
They look similar.

A few weeks later, so maybe you've already done something with it, but I think it would be possible to move it safely. The chrysalis is attached to the grill cover by a sheet of silk. You may be able to peel the sheet of silk off without touching the chrysalis (I'm not saying don't touch it at all, just be gentle), and then tape the sheet to the underside of some kind of overhang.
