Efferia
Your other robber is the female to match. These are Efferia in the Albibarbis group. Efferia albibarbis being the commonest across the east and the whole US. In CA there may be a lookalike in the group but there are only 4 or 5 in CA in this group. Unless this is peralta, which I have not seen, then this is likely E albibarbis.

Thanks, Herschel. Had I guessed, I'd have had them backwards. Ran into different robber flies today. Will review images and possibly post some more.
