Our third Chicago robber - Laphria canis - Male
Harms Woods Forest Preserve, Glenview, Cook County, Illinois, USA
June 2, 2006
Size: ~14mm
This one was all black -- black face, black thorax, black abdomen.

Laphria
Wide genitalia on this black male suggests a possible true Laphria canis. Species group includes sicula and winnemana but this may be canis.
