I've never even heard of that one before!
It does look similar. Based on the range info in the guide, it seems like this would be O. ectypa then. I saw Kevin's comments here

so I'll add a little more info about where I found it: the web was about five feet high in a stunted oak woodland. I guess you could say the spider was living in trees, but the trees there were only about ten feet tall.

I think we've seen this or similar before, but I can never remember the name ... something in Mastophora?? (Just a thought, it's early here and I'm still on the first cup of coffee.)

I wouldn't mind seeing a photo from the anterior side.

 
Not Mastophora
This was in an orb web when I first saw it, and Mastophora spp. don't spin webs. I wish I could have gotten better photos, but it got into this position when I approached and this was the only angle I could get.
